What’s up with red cabbage?

Red Cabbage with Rice and Chickpeas

1 daily serving for a 15kg dog (33 lb)

Ingredients

  • 390g cooked Chickpeas with some savory
  • 180g cooked wholegrain Rice
  • 150g Red Cabbage
  • 5g Canola oil
  • 5g Linseed oil
  • 1 Rice cake
  • 2g Salt
  • 6g V-Complete - 2g per 5kg Dog

Preparation

Cut the Red cabbage in small pieces and fry it in the canola oil.

Mash the chickpeas with a “Moulinette” or a masher and add it with the rice to the cabbage.

Brake the rice cake into small pieces and mix it under the food. Season with salt. Let cool down.

Stir V-Complete into the cooled food. Now serve your doggie.

Why crush the rice?

In this recipe I use wholegrain rice. It has a very firm husk and is therefore more difficult to digest than husked rice. You can improve digestibility considerably by crushing the wholegrain rice husks. Husked rice can also be fed whole.

Refine recipe with Leni Lecker HundeVurst

For gourmets, you can also add Leni Lecker HundeVurst. Take 70g of Vurst, cut it into proper chunks and fry it with the other ingredients. To compensate for the extra nutrients, reduce the chickpeas to 300g and the brown rice to 150g.
