Carrot Chickpea bowl

With Hummus and Polenta

Making your own dog food is simple and takes no longer than preparing your own meals. This Carrot Chickpea Bowl with Hummus and Polenta is a good example of a balanced, easy dish. 

Carrots are in season from early summer and available fresh and locally throughout the summer. It is also worth a visit to weekly markets, as fruit and vegetables from nearby cultivation are often available there. 

And in winter there are winter carrots, which are grown late, harvested late and then put into storage.

This way we also have the delicious vital substance bombs available in the winter months. Carrots are full of precious nutrients, such as beta-carotene and dietary fibres like pectin, which have a positive effect on digestion. Chickpeas also provide valuable protein and are a great source of iron.



400 g cooked Chickpeas
325 g cooked Polenta
200 g Carrots
15 g Linseed oil
0.5 g Salt

For garnish

Some finely chopped parsley stalks



  • Rinse the chickpeas well.

  • Put 100g of the chickpeas in a blender with linseed oil and 40ml of water and puree to hummus.

  • Stir V-Complete and salt into the hummus.

  • Chop the remaining chickpeas in a food processor.

  • Finely grate the carrots and mix them with the chopped chickpeas.

  • Arrange polenta, chickpea-carrot mixture and hummus in the bowl. Top with a little chopped parsley stems and optionally a little sesame seeds. Enjoy serving this mouthwatering meal.
