Greta – Vegan dry food for healthy, sustainable dog nutrition

Greta is our tried-and-tested vegan dry food for dogs, which provides all the important nutrients – without any animal ingredients. Developed for dog owners who value health, animal welfare and sustainability, Greta is not only wholesome, but also particularly digestible and tasty.

Why vegan dog food?

More and more people are consciously choosing a plant-based diet – and dogs can benefit from this too. As omnivores, dogs can optimally utilise nutrients from plant sources, as long as the recipe is formulated to meet their needs. Vegan dog food can prevent allergies to animal proteins, aid digestion and at the same time make an important contribution to climate protection.

A study byKnight et al. (2022) even shows that dogs fed a balanced vegan diet are often healthier than dogs fed a conventional diet.

Why dry food is a good choice

Dry food is one of the most popular types of food – and for good reason. It has a long shelf life, is easy to store, easy to portion and convenient for travelling. Its firm structure can also contribute to dental care by mechanically reducing plaque.

Of course, there are also aspects to consider: dry food contains less moisture than wet food, so fresh water should always be available. However, dry food is ideal for dogs who like to nibble and enjoy a firm consistency.

What makes Greta dry food special

Greta is a complete food – this means it provides your dog with all the essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals. The recipe is based on high-quality plant-based ingredients such as potatoes, peas, lentils and beetroot. Free from soy and artificial colours or attractants, Greta is particularly well tolerated, even by sensitive dogs.

Low-purine food for special needs

Our Greta dog food meets all nutritional requirements and is naturally low in purines, making it ideal for dogs with special needs, such as those suffering from leishmaniasis or genetic metabolic disorders, such as Dalmatians.

The low-purine recipe reduces strain on the kidneys and supports urinary tract health.

For which dogs is Greta recommended?

Greta is a complete food for adult dogs of all breeds and sizes. It is suitable for both active and less athletic dogs, as well as those with sensitive stomachs and allergies. However, we recommend a special diet tailored to growth for puppies, although Greta can also be used if the missing nutrients are supplemented. Ideally, this should be done in consultation with a dog nutritionist.

So you see, a vegan diet is also possible for young dogs, but it should be planned with particular care and tailored to their increased nutritional needs. With Greta, you are choosing a healthy, plant-based and responsible diet – for the well-being of your dog and for a more sustainable world.
